Hola! I’m JoAnne, but my friends call me JoJo. I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I still live today. The locals refer to Albuquerque as Burque, hence the Blog name, the Burque Bitch.
I’ll be blogging about things that matter, things that touch my heart and my soul, and things that make me laugh and cry.
I’ve learned that speaking, or even thinking, negatively is not healthy. I used to doubt myself all the time. I think it was because nobody I loved or trusted ever encouraged me or told me that I was special or smart or beautiful. I literally grew up thinking I was stupid and ugly.
When I was in my twenties, I woke up one morning and suddenly, somehow, I knew that I was not stupid or ugly. I knew I wasn’t the smartest or most beautiful girl in the world, but I was pretty enough and smarter than I ever dreamed.
Once I started believing in myself, everything changed for the better. My life became an adventure, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.
Mahatma Gandhi said, “Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, and your values become your destiny.”
That’s why it’s extremely important to be mindful of our thoughts and our actions. If we want our destiny to be amazing, we’ve got to stay positive and believe in yourself. You are worthy of love and happiness! Don’t ever forget that.
One thing I know for sure it that God loves you. Don’t let anyone bring you down. Nobody matters more than God! God created you to be the unique individual that you are. You are irreplaceable. You are special. You are the only you there is, so be the best you that you can be.
