Hello Beautiful People!

I’m back!

I am JoJo, the happy hippy, now also known as my new alternative attitude, The Burque Bitch. I am a woman who says exactly what’s on her mind. I have a very peculiar filter which doesn’t always stop me from cussing up a storm. I do try to watch my potty-mouth around children and my elders, but I fail sometimes.

It’s ok, though, because I am human and God loves me, anyway.

At least I’m honest. I say what I mean and I mean what I say. I have no regrets, and I won’t apologize to anyone except God, for anything.

God has been trying to teach me patience again this week. Well, He’s been trying for as long as I can remember actually, but it never sticks. I dive into things head-first and at the last minute without much time to plan anything. I also make most decisions at the drop of a hat, which makes my husband crazy. I just do my best to live in the moment. God seems to know this about me and always helps me somehow, because things usually works out for the best.

Anyhoo. I came on today because I was thinking about last Sunday night.

I was hanging out with one of my favorite people in the world, Bam. Sadly, Bam recently lost one of her awesome & amazing brothers whom she loved dearly. She’s sad and she’s angry, which is completely understandable and acceptable. It sucks to lose a loved one, I know, but we can’t get mad at or blame God. It’s not His fault.

She asked me, “Why does God let terrible things happen to good people? He creates each of us, right?”

I explained that, as I see it, God does not allow bad things to happen. While He does create each of us, he doesn’t control any of us. Because He loves us so much, He gave each and every one of us free-will. Free-will allows us to make our own choices. So, the worst things that happen are always caused by people, not God.

“Ok.” She said, “What about Cancer, Schizophrenia, Alcoholism, and other terrible diseases and illnesses?”

I explained that I believe God gave us Science and Medicine, or at least the knowledge to use and learn these things, to help us live better, happier, and healthier lives. We took the knowledge that we were blessed with and used it for so many things God never intended or would ever approve of. That “free-will” we all love, yet completely take for granted, is used and abused by people because of this, bad things have become a part of our lives. They’ve been handed down from generation to generation in one way or another.

It’s not always genetics but probably stems from other sources in our DNA that we have acquired through the things we eat and drink. All too often, we inadvertently consume toxins and contaminants that are sprayed onto or injected into the fruits & vegetables and animals that we need to eat in order to survive; you know, the amazing foods and animals that were also given to us by God yet fucked up by man.

Then, there’s all the medicines that were meant to help us yet quickly became the drugs that completely fucked us up, either by the mistakes of others or by us purposely taking drugs and/or drinking alcohol to alter our own reality; you know, the beautiful and amazing reality that God gave us as the world, originally called the Garden of Eden. We still live in the Garden of Eden, but now we call it Earth. Earth was fucked up for us by our ancestors and is still getting fucked up by us to this day. That’s on us, not God.

So, the next time someone asks, “Why does God let bad things happen?” remember that it’s not God who let these things happen, it’s us who did these things to ourselves.

I also believe, however, that if we live our lives more as He wants us to; by loving each other, caring about the world we live in, and by giving Him the thanks and praise He deserves, things can still get better.

Thank you all for being here with me, for letting me into your lives, and for the love & good vibes I always get from you. You are a real and wonderful part of my life, and I wouldn’t want to live without any one of you.

Have a great day and keep on keeping on. Don’t forget to thank God for what you do have; there are so many with so much less.

See Ya!!!
